The Details

RFG Inc has indicated the reporting features they would provide you through a fee-based asset management program, without going into details. Here are the details. Three types of reports are generated: A monthly account statement, a quarterly performance report, and an annual tax report.

The account statement details your positions, the transactions and cashflows that have taken place in your account, and your current asset allocation. You also can see the change in value of your account from month to month, along with any adjustments made if you elect automatic rebalancing.

The quarterly performance reports are a way to evaluate overall portfolio results and also specific manager performance. The report includes a comparison of your results against appropriate market indexes, and a market overview to give you background.

The annual year-end tax report details your gains and losses for the year, both long-term and short term, along with interest and dividends your account has generated. In a nutshell, it's "total 1040 support," everything your CPA or tax advisor will need to prepare investment-related items. The year-end tax report can save you tax preparation fees, while sparing you the time it takes to consolidate tax data.
